Psidium Red Guava

Irresistibly aromatic, the deliciously sweet fruit have deep pink flesh and can be eaten fresh or made into jams, drinks or desserts.

How to Grow Psidium from Seed

Sow the seeds ¼”- ½” deep in moist, well-drained soil with a thin covering of sand or grit keeping a temperature of 70-85F. Germination takes anywhere between 4-12 weeks so do please be patient and it is worth bearing in mind that cool soil will significantly delay the seed germination time particularly if the soil temperature is below 60-65F when germination may not occur at all.

Once established the young plants should be transplanted into larger containers and kept at 75F in a sunny greenhouse. It will take several years to bear fruit but the attractive plants should eventually produce deliciously rich, sweet fruit that are excellent fresh or in desserts.
