PERSICARIA CERISE PEARLS

Persicaria Cerise Pearls otherwise known as ‘Kiss Me Over The Garden Gate’ is a beautiful hardy annual popular during Victorian times and has graceful sprays of velvety cerise flowers with attractive heart shaped leaves. An ideal cut flower and an easy to grow border plant too. 3-4’.

Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost, just covering with a little soil at an ideal temperature of 65-68°F (18-22°C). Germination can take anywhere between 21-60 days. If germination does not occur the seeds would benefit from a period of cold so move to 39°F (4°C) for 4 weeks and then return to the warmth.

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 9cm pots and grow on, planting out once all danger of frost has passed. Alternatively, the seeds can be sown outdoors in the autumn when the cold winter temperatures should make ideal conditions for germination to occur as the weather warms in the spring.
